Cinderella
Retold and illustrated by: Barbara McClintock
Based off the Charles Perrault Version
Cinderella is a poor girl who suffers injustices from her
evil step mother and step sisters. When the king’s son decides to throw a ball,
the evil step sisters mock that Cinderella will not go. In despair, Cinderella’s
fairy godmother comes to the rescue, as she gives her all of the riches to go. At
the ball she meets and falls in love with the prince. But, when she loses her
slipper the prince spares no expense to find his dream girl. Cinderella fits
the slipper, and they marry.
Rating/Evaluation
This is a timeless classic. It shows kids how people can be
at times, and that everybody should be nice to everybody. I also shows that it
you are kind and generous, good things will go your way. In a nut shell,
niceness will prevail. This is a great book to teach the children a lesson.
