Summary: This is a
book about a polar bear that travels to many different islands. When he comes
to these islands he is greeted by many friends. When he meets his friends, he
enjoys their “ cultures” and their special activities.
Rating/ statement: This book uses vivid color through the
use of water color. The way that the “other islands” are also vividly portrayed
a visual masterpiece. While I was looking at the pictures, I could not help but
think that this is a great way to introduce different cultures. As the bear
travel to the different islands, he embraces the friendship and “uniqueness” of
the places and people around them. It is not just good for our differences
accepting others, it is also a good source exploring the world and all it has
to offer. 5 stars!
sounds like such a great lesson for young kids! never thought i'd hear about a polar bear on an island!
